A Survey on Hearing Disturbance of Female Workers Working in a Textile corportion

Abstract
To make certain of the incidence of hearing disturbance, authors made a servey on the female workers, 631 included of 260 of weavers, 153 of preparators and 218 control, those who working in a textile corporation, Taegu, Korea during 6 months from June to December, 1969.
The results obtained were summerized as follows.
1. The rate of hearing disturbance according to intencity of noise were 44.2 percent in weavers under 100 phon over, 13.4 percent in preparators under 85-95 phon, 5.5 percent in controls under 60 phon below.
2. The rate of hearing disturbance varied by the working periods in the noisy environment. The almost all of hearing disturbance were found for 2.8-3.0 years of working period, and followed by increase slightly.
3. When compare with hearing disturbance due to C_(5)-dip (4,000cps) and ordinary human voice (2,000cps) were analysed, the rate of disturbance to C_(5)-dip in weavers, preparators and controls were 7.2 percent (38 of 520), 1.2 percent (4 of 306), and 0.2 percent (1 of 412), respectively, following to except hearing disturbed cases in both cycles.
